Chapter 2 I stayed in the hospital for a week, hyping up the lil nurse crushing on the doc to shoot her shot, spilling tea 'bout the side chick next door who got ghosted by her married boo and had an abortion with the nurse lady, and FaceTiming my remote editor BFF Lily, who was lowkey struggling. Finally, feeling bored, I hit up my bro. "Bro, I wanna dip from the hospital." "Nah, don't even. I know you'll be wildin' the sec you're out. Aunt Lori can't handle you." "I swear..." "Don't be making promises," Big Bro Michael ain't playin', "and don't be cute. If you try that, you'll come to the company for an internship." Obvi, he was just soft-hearted and knew he couldn't resist my cuteness. I rolled my eyes and thought of the person who'd be least likely to say no, besides my bro. "Auntie, you bored at home? How 'bout I slide thru and keep you company?" "Elizabeth, Auntie's going abroad soon. How about I have Chris come scoop you up, and have Aunt Lori go over to take care of you, and you vibe with Chris for a bit?" I weighed the pros and cons. Chris barely talked, so I could pretend he wasn't there, and living in a villa was way better than the hospital. Before I agreed, I called my bro. He thought for a sec and said, "Chris is chill, I don't mind, but Liz, don't force yourself. If you ain't feelin' it, you ain't feelin' it. Your bro can still back you up." Me: ??? Weren't you the one who stopped me from going home in the first place?
