Chapter 7 Honestly, I expected hanging out with Chris to be a total snooze fest. I mean, my leg was still busted and he didn't exactly scream "party animal." So when the car stopped in front of a low-key yet artsy AF building, I was shooketh. "Is this...Sebastian Harrington's private gallery?" "Mhm, I thought you would like it." Like it?! I freaking loved it! Being able to enter a gallery full of rare Greek artifacts for someone as obsessed with ancient Greek history as me is like a rat diving into a rice bin! Exclusive collection not open to the public? Chris is the GOAT! Capitalism FTW! There were only a few staff members and the two of us in the gallery. My leg was still a pain, so I clung to Chris's arm like a crutch, gushing over everything and whispering "OMG" all the way. He occasionally chimed in with a few words. Sometimes I grabbed him and stood there, shook, and he just stayed silent beside me. By the time we finished the tour, nearly three hours had passed, and Chris's suit jacket was crumpled from my death grip. I let go of his arm, feeling sheepish, and tried to fix his clothes. "Sorry...I just got a little too excited." "It's alright." Hold up! I just caught Chris smiling! For real! "Did you just smile?" "Mhm." "It's the first time I've seen you smile." "Is it?" Chris said. "I'm sorry, I thought I should have smiled more in front of you." "Do you have any misconceptions about yourself?" I was shook. He said, "When I'm with you, I'm super happy. When you're happy, I want to smile too." "So sometimes, even if you're not smiling on the outside, you're lowkey smiling on the inside?" He smiled again. "Maybe." Ah, why is his smile so freaking adorable??
