8 PM and I'm vibing outside Isabell's house.
She's that chic girl with a principal dad and a dreamy suburban villa on a hill. Goals, right?
Over dinner, I couldn't help it. Glancing at Isa, looking all sorts of happy, I said, "Girl, why didn't you choose Landon?"
Awkward silence alert.
Remember Landon Scott? Total HS snack and artsy boy we both double-tapped on.
First to spill? Daniel Mitchell, Isabell's dad. "Landon? That broke artist? My girl's on another level."
Isa took a wine break. "Autumn, still heart-reacting over Landon? Still loyal, huh?"
I smirked, "Didn't I try to join Art Club because of him?"
"Okay, but Landon's just IG-worthy. If I knew Martin was basically royalty, you could have had your Landon DMs. Even now."
Listening to the fam go on about #VanderbiltGoals, I just stirred my vegan soup.
They were deep in chat mode, not seeing that my plate was full-on untouched.
I set my silverware down with a little sass. "Isa, living your best life, huh?"
Isa was daydreaming about future Insta posts, "Totally."
But her mom caught on. "Is it me or... does it smell like something burnt?"
Isa scrunched her nose. "Did you leave the oven on, mom?"
"Didn't forget anything," I said low-key, "It's lit."
Realizing the flames, they tried to move but just couldn't. Super weird.
All they could do was watch me, totally chill, fetch some oil, and vibe with the fire.
Isabella, shaking and not understanding my vibe, was like, "Autumn! What's your deal?!"
"Lost it? Nah. But Isa, you legit ghosted my life."
